Haven't been posting__too much going on---Holidays always seem to turn out to be Holidazes!! is that a word??hi hi Anyway--I did commit myself to a swap at Adys and we each get three people to make ornaments for--using Adys type gurl!! First I drew one of Adys type gurls on shrink plastic and shrunk it and painted it and glued it onto a wooden pink heart..I bought at ACE Moores only I used some Christmas inks on the heart to tone it down and show off the gurl more--Then I found some inexpensive wooden boxes to decorate--I gessoed them and I modpodged some fancy papers I had --on one-- to see what I was going for-- Didn't really like it-- until I used my destressed inks -from Tim Holts Christmas collection- I am still ---- putting on this and taking off that--- but I now have a direction-- A lil goth anime gurl on the top-- and inside I have tissue paper in red and white designs mod podged on! Sorry--I haven't taken any pixs of my orders--They are in and out--and since they are paid for-- don't want them duplicated until they at least leave me hmmmm Anyway--Thats my story and I am sticking to it heh heh!!!

''TO keep me busy and mind off the "worry" things around me..I made some ATCs --I am taking a class over at Ady's DOD Dollies---Love her take on the eyes--which are a favorite of mine !! So A gal there-- names Tania(from Australia--THey seem to have a ton vo creative people over there) has made interactive ones and Ya know-- it took some thinking to get these done hi hi I didn't want to take the easy way out and buy brads and do-dads-- SO I dug thru my stash and found some bead stringing" wire"---I folded the butterfly wing which I had modpodged for strength and I think I put a paper glaze later Anyway --it now feels like Plastic so it came out good for all this and wraps around the wire nicely-- and the wire is so thin --it doesn't show where I pushed it in and out of the card--- it worked--Then I put it in-- on top of the angels hands--- and put a crystal bead-- and wrapped the wire around it and thru the card to the back and just made a lil wire knot there--- Same for the mermaid She has a crystal in her tummy button--The angel has cotton hair that was gessoed in and the mermaid has string I gessoed and painted over --Wish I could make a video-- I am better at "showing" --how --I did this than telling..but think you can get some idea with this and I am sure there are even better ways out there This was just my take on it--and on keeping me busy-------Lets see what mess I can make next????????

Am I a crazy blogger or what?? I forget to come here and let the world in on my newest artistic endevers-- Is that a word?? Never mind I am good at making up my own lately haha-Anyway -- Have a new "persona"l challenge -- A picture a day--- and I am posting a few to show I "am" trying to do it --for as long as I can!?!?hihi --It is so hard for me to stick to anything-- Thanks to all these - wonderful artists on the internet---I love surfing and I think Oh I want to try that--- Anyway -- for now---It is pictures and dolls -- The one I am showing is a cloth doll-- and it seems-- people love a painted face/cloth doll--because I get more requests for them---SO one way or another I am into FACES!! This is Kami --my youngest gran and the most artistic of the 7-- I have---I don't post about her too much --due to her mom's restrictions on it--But she is my artistic advisor and buddy Who has many years ahead of her to learn ---still--- she already beats me in her artistic endeavers--- She is the one who named Madame Boo-- and tells me what she thinks looks good etc
After many painful times in our family --Jeff being killed on American Airlines Sept 11th and my dad losing his battle with cancer and losing my youngest son and now mom slipping into dementia..Well If it wasn't for Kami (and her brother Kevin) enlisting me for all their school projects and getting me orders and aiding and abetting in all this..TMI SORRY!!!. SO here is to Kami!! for coloring my world in rainbows -- This post is for you hon!!! Luv ya much Granma!!! Except for the lil clay bear on her lap -- that she made-- during the summer-- the doll and paintings are some of her more recent projects for school She didn't want her face in this-- but it is too cute to leave out!!Dont cha think???

I am suppose to make a "palm"size swap for HALLOWEEN..In my very own 'quirky' fashion--I chose to make it out of cloth instead of the paper clay I have been working with--I wish I could use the "cernit" my dear friend Kai sent me --It has been four years since I played with cernit-- but that is another story--and since my swap partner is a girl-- I am staying away from the monsters I have in mind for my paper clay hmmmm--for now anyway!!!I was planning to make her a lil trick or treater "ghost" --with her pigtails showing thru some cuts in her (sheet) costume-- BUT---She has decided --That is- not- what she wants to be-- finished her today--and we (both) are quite happy ---at how she turned out ---But--- I cant put the finished picture up JUST YET!!! This is one of my WIP !! I am deciding what "wings" to make her --I thot of needle felting some !! Going to have to get some suggestions !!? May put her on my face book and ask??? since she is clay with a milifori body --should I stick with clay?? DO the needle felting or just use some paper wings or cloth wings I already have made ?? Wish I had the visions my young students have-- they know what they vision and go right to it..I have already been told what to add to my lil GLO worm below ..She need shoes and a hair bow..or so I am told!! Has it been that long --since I blogged last? --Let's see-- I am going to put up some pictures-- of a talented young man --who had to design a Shakespearian dress for Juliet--- for a school project and came to me for advice! He went with me-- to buy all the materials-- and picked them all out himself. Since the materials were costly in itself --we decided to make up a pattern as the nearest medieval pattern was 15.00 and would have to be sized down anyway....I think the following speak for them selves --Enjoy the adventure of a first timer (and male to boot) I bow to his talent!!

Whew--- Did the bug make its rounds here!!!Took Kami to the doctor yesterday and she didn't check out for flu--- I guess the flu has its own meds -- that are useless for anything else-- but ears were bad-- and throat and fever----To me --just as sick ---and required meds --Us/ adults just went thru Motrin and Advil and Bayers and anything that helped....in the mean time I got the bestest--- get well/ valentine[ and friend card from Kai-- ALways a smile giver that Kai!! I "am" the worlds worst photographer..Ms Kittee's (IMHO) eyes were her best feature and they look awful in the pix----Still trying tho-- here is two more awful attempts for my March madness--Trying to make something Irish---Had some small dried mushrooms (shrooms as they call them around here) that reminded me of a Leprechaun and some green felt that-- you guessed it-- reminded me of clover.. my "shared" camera is missing!! so no photos yet-- for what I am working on...I attached my lil Air dry clay--- cat head--- You can see it-- laying around in the last post---- to a small body today ---and decided to paint the body...I used some watered down white glue with my paint --- to cover some seams--- and where the clay head was attached to the body --and was delighted to see--- it made the body have a furry look and a lacy look for the bodice !! Don't you just love it--- when you try new things ---and they WORK!!!!But every time I think this one is going to zip right thru-- NO Problems--I do something stupid.. I really liked her face and eyes -- but I didn't wait long enough to start dressing her --- and I pulled some cloth over her face --- and wrecked one of her eyes---I had used top coat nail polish over the paint and it looked dry -- but it wasn't..It had such a nice lil clear dome too..My bad!!! Guess it is good that durn camera is in use elsewhere No need to have pictures to remind me of my goofs!!!! An-d--- I have --three lil dollies to work on--- but I always try to get one done all the way ---One day I will learn to stop-- and let one settle out and work on another one --and then go back to the other one !!! Ya think?????

KEEP MY HEARTY (AIR DRY )CLAY IN A PICKLE JAR..OF COURSE i CLEAN IT AND LET IT AIR DRY SO IT DOESN'T SMELL LIKE PICKLES--BUT IT SURE KEEPS THE CLAY FROM' DRYING OUT LIKE SO MANY OTHER CONTAINERS i HAVE TRIED---i ALSO KEEP A PKG OF DIFFERENT SIZES OF FOAM BALLS (FROM THE DOLLAR STORE) AND TOOTHPICKS AND POLYESTER LINING..CUZ IT IS THIN AND STRONG AND i LIKE TO NEEDLE SCULPT MY LIL BODIES---i LIKE HEARTY CLAY BECAUSE IF I decide to cover the clay face in cloth..it has a soft-- almost stuffed feeling to it...Lets see--- I cant run out for hair..I am baby sitting a sick gran!!! so I found some roping --- and it unwinds into some pretty locks..I have drawers of paints --(because I paint/draw/ on most anything that will take it--- but I usually rely on FOLK ART..for faces and shoes on dolls!!If I get lazy and don't want to "make" shoes!! Happens a lot-- hmmm ---Anyway-- I am trying to set up-- How I do things --in order to -- learn how I can do free tutorials for the people who asked--SO guess this is a learn as we go for all of us hihi I wish it was live so I could have feedback oh what I need to be showing Oh welllllllllllll here goes nothing!?!?!

At the transformation of my --wire/wrapped/wax/over face -- lil lady.. pulled out of my pile (of works in process--Lots of start and stops--on things-- to keep my mind off the problems going around me__I only seem to finish a project when I have a order or deadline -- this time a swap over at Cindy's Thimbleprims Studio-- She has the neatest blog and swaps etc -- so check her out --if I was better on this computer I would have it out there for you to just click-- but haven't gotten that far with this computer --yet---- Another thing I need to learn more of..Boots-- I think her boots were the hardest for me to come up with--- as we don't have a Hobby Lobby closer than 50 miles -- and too much going on for travel for anything but essentials---Oh I made her stockings out of an old silk handy I had..SO most of the dress was from saved treasures..I love the challenge of seeing --what--can make what!! Now isnt this a perfect lil holiday tree for someone in a nursing home!? Grab one of those green foam cones they sell (even at the dollar store--I believe mine is the DOllar Tree)or if you wish -- the floral dept of a craft store and a box of inexpensive bulbs and pull out the hanger and add airdryclay to the hole left but the missing hanger-- and then add a toothpick--in the adc-- Let it dry and then arrange your bulbs on the cone --SO simple and so colorful for a holiday treat for someone!

WHY OPSI?? Well my daughter bought me an order--from her work--- for a simple doll..for a little girl--I told her I dont do simple --- and she said -- OH Mom -- that should be so much easier-- HRUMP Is that a challenge??-SO I made a simple doll-- out of soft quishy material--- but - she needed clothes -- (to me at least) -- SO I made her a bonnet our of velvet and a pretty velvet and lace dress-- and Of course then-- she needed --at least eyes - so I put in lil black button ones-- and there is where--- OPSI-- came in---I was told to lose her fancy clothes and put something that could be played with..ANd lose those lil black button eyes --Not safe --- welll I can hand embroider some eyelashes or something .BUT..It is going to bug me not to have a full face and I will have to make another doll just to wear the fancy clothes...TOnight I embroider some eyes ...I hope I can leave it there But I have to admit Opsi is kinda cute !! And once is always enough for me soooooooooooooooo

THis is the lil elf ---who will help me pick names out of a basket---Can you guess she loves horses !!! She is a very good crafter too!!In fact she is very good at a lot of things !! WHIle I am experimenting I pulled out one of the three resin heads -- I was given ( from a crafty friend in Illinois --who is also moving...and selling all her goodies toO-- BAD i CANT BRING ANYTHING BACK WITH ME .We are in too small a space right now to have ANYTHING!! So Jenny cant give it to me and I cant bring anything back boohooo anyway TMI --Back to the story...I tried a wax over on one of the heads to warm it up a lil and it does look warmer but shiny and some colors are a lil off so have some redos But heck that is what experimenting is all about LEARNING !! WHile I was takng a pix of the face I took one of my lil silver bell to see if I could get a better look for you and show her 24 hours later when the nail polish had dried,,,, Either I retouch a few parts and leave her like so or I put hair and paint a face???? WIll let you know hehehehehe

Guess--- what I do--- when that old ADD hits??? Turn to "experimenting"!!! I was walking thru a store the other day--- and saw this silver ornament for a dollar and then my husband and I mosied on over to the store right next door and I found the cutest lil doll for a dollar..and then I looked for some nail polish..white and silver..My husband has learned --not-- to question the purchases-- haha-- But I was right -- the white nail polish makes the doll look like porcelein --and the siver helps add her into the ornament-- I did put the wrong glue to hold her-- in the ornament and it sort of ate the foam inside -- but it was too full anyway-- and after all it is only an experiment --I havent decided if I will paint features on the face and if the hair will be black nail polish or white mohair??? < am thinking this will be a neat project for Kami and her friends...And I am trying to learn how to work myself into my New Year promise to show How I do things !!! I have taught HOW--- but i CANT DO PATTERNS..i CAN ONLY DO FACE TO FACE THUS FAR....AND USUALLY JUST KIDS BECAUSE THEY DONT ALWAYS KNOW MORE THAN ME HEHEHEH

Dont know-- if it was all those angels orders -- Am not a fan of repetition ---as you no doubt guessed !?!? --or just my normal ??ADD--Need to find a "New" thing to play with-- for awhile anyway--to get refreshed-- I didnt snap the progress Of the dolls Here-- They are just proof -- I am still dolling!?!?! DIDNt even snap the beaded angel hankies and the ornament Santas-- etcetc -- in my rush to get them --- sent/out --BUT -- I have plenty left for the holidays to get started on-- when I get my camera back--- ( MY daughter took it-- because it is small and easy to carry to take pixs and YESSSSS My granddaughter's team won "first place" BUt of course!! Halloween came and went and I didnt put up "Weecheee" my Latest doll!! Sort of a GOTH witch!!! Please note the belt and necklace..I lost the first two to Kami-- and had to go buy two more-- So If she likes it!!! I am not being too dark minded going into GOTH !! I have always liked the simple lil black dress etc and bling -- so guess I was Goth/minded --clothes-wise anyway-- and didnt know it !! hope everyone had a nice Trick n Treat weekend --The tales I could tell-- with the lil wonders that came to our door-- Poor things -- we had some scary things up.. Why Frustrations--well for one I have never attempted a primative doll and I had a hard time going simple me with the big eyes and realistic looks etcetc Didnt realize I had a style until this doll and then I put my twist on her and she wasnt a primative I also put up the first look before I reguessoed her to do over My youngest critic said AWWW GranMA I like the first doll better More YOU!! See why she is my favorite Critic(teehee) anyway I dont like gray grunge so Thanks to Sherri (Goshen) I grunged her up-- brown only I used coffee-- and now-- she smells like she lived in a coffee bag --but we all like coffee here---I put both doll faces up to show the change and remind me of my first attempts and to add to a gee whiz week I cannot get my bloger to let me send thanks to all the nice people who visited and commented on the angels below.. Hope it doesn carry ono to this week too I did my time teehee

Sent to school --My husband is sooo glad because I wanted to add clay to the the colums--Make them fatter as the roof came out bigger than expected but he said it is Kamis project and not a judged model

I started my Halloween projects early --as September will be a crazy month here with -- Wellll all months are crazy around here..but we have hip surgery and eye surgery and you name it coming due in that month....SOoooo I tried to get in the Halloween mood..Must be in one-- cuz not only have I made some Halloweenie thingies -- but already sold some ---Here are a few Some finished /some unfinished..Had to make a new witch- pin- keep but it has a different face... Hope this one doesnt sell before I mail it out... First--- my daugther says--- she is going to find and give me a "cd" she had made --of pixs of some of my older craftin days --Don't remember imortalizing anything in photos back then-- maybe I just knew --they would better be forgotten???? Then my mom -- who is in her 90's--has decided to redistribute "her" clutter.. mostly things I had made her!! So since I am still not up to crafting...I decided to give myself a giggle and anyone else who decided to peek in ..and hopefully show you do et better with time ---welll you are suppose to ..if you stick to it and practice and---not jump around to new things--- all the time----Thatll learn me!?!?!?!?!?!??!?Where shall I start???! welll lets see grab a cuppa coffee cuz the first one is one I made for mom (and similar ones for her two friends..however-- I only have hers) they use to meet at a lil coffee place (she lives in Fla -- so most places have Spanish names..This one is "El Gallo de ORO " or the Golden Rooster...I made them in clay years ago and they havent chipped or faded WOW!!! I also made A Golden rooster in old lame --with wire legs etcetc for the owner and a tole painted picture of a Rooster-- lookin at his watch-- sayin -- Time for -- El Gallo de ORO!! Those --I dont have pixs of --nor were they returned-- I guess that is a good sign??More oldies later !!!

don't everyone disappear -- but I think --I need a new camera---This one only takes one or two pics-- per new battery --and I don't take good pics anyway...Maybe-- just maybe-- a new one would help---Anyway.. I am almost finished with my Friendly Plastic projects..I am really glad I found out-- that you can just heat FP --with an embossing gun --to work with it-- instead of the hot water bathe and the oven or electric skillet thing.I am sure those-- are needed also-- for more creative approaches-- but this one does the trick for someone in my position.. bed craftin-- hmmm---- Oh well-- takes all kinds-- and you can usually find all kinds blogging-- soooo here I am--While doing these gals-- I thot of a lot of different approches to FP .. I may try when able....... SO--I backed these gals with black FP--- to make them stronger-- but I forgot the front gets a wee bit soft too-- and will pick up smudges from the fingers .. learn while you work they always say!!!I used Yarn for hair because the colors seem to fit !?!? I haven't decided whether to gloss over the yarn(hair) --or just leave it ..I liked the faces better after I put a finish on them .. Back to the ol drawing board ---

The only bright spot today-- was crafting in my bed again...Really-- just taking my UFO and finally doing something with them--One lil clay fairy-- I have had sitting around-- for over ten months--waiting to be finished... I dressed her in leaves-- no less-- and I had all sorts of gossemer material-- I was going to use --go figure-- No sewing just a lil glue .. I also glued some fiber--- for a lil tail on a pin--- and thot I wuld show a journal I had made...Just because I cant do much --my poor muse is going heywire with ideas---Cest la vie------

What do you do with a Crafter that is sentenced to stay in bed due to one thing and to wear an eye patch due to another??? You prop her up and surround her with things She can do !?!?! or try to do --- to keep her from being a complete PIB!!! Don't know how long this will work?? but here is some of the things I have done this last week-- IN BED --- I dont even remember the weeks before so Must be getting better!!--Had eye surgery that didnt get off the ground too good Still hoping for better days..Maybe a better mood will help??hoho And an old problem I thot I had controled --Reared its ugly head -- but hey-- You can hand sew in bed and you can draw--two of my favorite sports --uh-- crafts --- so I dressed my lil bear (i had made earlier )and I was dressing one of my dolls -- but not sure I like it --- I took the easy way out with a ribbon ---We' ll see ---A t least I am doing something !!!!!!and I decided to use my oil pastels -- Less messy in bed--- and draw the face I have in mind--- for a new doll..Janika...I may just draw for awhile --- it was fun!!! Even with one eye which needs surgery too!! Just doing this made me feel better---I also got my daughter's lap top ---to Blog --in bed---Everyone says--- Oh how wonderful .. to do things from your bed WOnderful would be being to be my old wild self OUT OF BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAR--- IN fact I received some pixs of animals from my DAZ site ---That are so cute -- they call them TOONS -- but they have charactor ( DAZ is a 3d illustrator site-- ANyway--- I may try more---Since I find half the fun is figuring out how to make them --without a pattern//Keeps my boredom level low -- but does elevate the frustration level at times--- MY Bad -- What ever -- He is made of Non- pill- fleece and he will stay naked --until I finsh some other projects-- like CHallenges and swaps etc I am behind in -- Kami said -- that is okay -- because she like his lil belly showing??
